Version 1090 software

The latest software update has a nice datalog viewer in it. Still a work in progress, it is quite functional and usable

Re: Current Install

We saw a gain of 4whp peak with the peak moving up about 400 rpms. Plus 10whp at 7000!

Re: Current Install

The car is up and running on Axiom. Great big camshaft and lots of static compression on a 50+year old engine design and she growls in closed loop idle at 1800 RPMs.

Dyno tomorrow

Current Install

I started my next Axiom installation yesterday. A 1975 VW Scirocco that races in SCCA F Production class. 1.8L 8V engine.
I am replacing an MS3 V3.0 that has been in the car for a number of years and doing a complete rewire as well.

Step 1: baseline dyno

Re: Axiom at Daytona SCCA event

Closed loop O2 using the new "step" method just plain works. Idle, off idle, cruise, wot it all works and works well

Still 5.5% more power at 7100 just from an ECU swap.
Yeah, surprised the hell out of us. Since then, the car has had an intake manifold change, a camshaft change, and has been converted to drive by wire.
And the owner/driver is 75 years young.

On the 2nd graph, Axiom made more power/torque than MS3?
Where it mattered for us (above 5K) yes. The VW intake manifold (2.0L ABA) creates an odd power curve. We generally ignore the true torque peak as it's too low to be useful on track.

Re: Axiom at Daytona SCCA event

The GTi and the BMW were both MS3 equipped prior to Axiom. The Miata had a stock ECU and was burning up valves every other weekend, the fuel curve at 70psi fuel pressure sucked.

A good friend who owns the car we first started testing Axiom with has described it best. Axiom vs MS3- Axiom "civilizes ...

Axiom at Daytona SCCA event

Not a build project but 3 of the cars I have installed Axiom ECUs in were at Daytona International Speedway for an SCCA regional club racing event this past weekend.
It was hot, heavy thunderstorms Saturday afternoon shortened the racing for the day. The cars won all races they competed in.
